ISUP Newsletter July 2021

International Society of Urological Pathology

Dear Colleagues,

The ISUP Council met last month, and we would like to expand the value of membership of ISUP and to this affect here are a few important developments:

1. As a Sponsoring Society of American Journal of Surgical Pathology, the ISUP has reached an agreement with Wolters Kluwer to offer a subscription to any of our members (and access to its 3 companion journals) at steep discounts starting in January 2022.  Payment would be added to your dues, and ISUP will receive the payemnet prior to forwarding names to the publisher. We will survey the membership and ask for your choices in September but the options are as follows:

__ Regular members, already paid ISUP dues and request subscription (Am. J. Surg. Pathol.*, starting Jan. 22, digital only x 1 year) extra $299.00 USD

__ Regular members, already paid (Am. J. Surg. Pathol.*, starting Jan. 22, print and digital x 1 year) extra $399.00 USD

__ Junior and emeritus members (residents/trainees – journal options not available) $0.00 USD

__ I do not plan to add this subscription

*NOTE: Online access includes AJSP, AJSP Research and Reviews, Applied Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Morphology, and Advances in Anat. Pathol. Regular rate: $985/year print, $866 online.

2. To add value to your ISUP membership, we would like to start a Journal Club. We are asking for a volunteer chair and 3 members to present a summary and critique the top 1–3 articles each month. If you are interested please email info@isupweb.org

3. ISUP now has a Research collaboration platform,https://isupweb.org/research-collaboration-platform/ that can be used to help compile cases and collaborators for multi-institution studies.

4. USCAP approved our Companion meeting at the Annual meeting of USCAP in Los Angeles, on Sunday, March 20, 2022. It will be 2 hours  and feature presentations on urothelial, testicular, and penile pathology by Drs. Funda Vakar-Lopez, Dr. Daniel Berney, and Dr. Al Chaux respectively. This will be the 30th anniversary of ISUP and it would be great to see you there (in person!).

5. ISUP Case of the Month and ISUP Presents webinars are available on the website. If you have a case that you think would be ideal for COTM please let us know and we would also  appreciate any topic suggestions/ speakers for ISUP Presents. Email info@isupweb.org

6. As USCAP Annual meeting is planning to be non-virtual next year we will resume presentation of Stipend awards, and the Koss medal.

7. Census of Membership in September we will asking you to choose your membership choices for the journal options and will be trying to clean up the membership list as it has historic data.

Sincerely,

Kenneth A. Iczkowski, MD
